Material Bank's business model allows architects, interior designers and design professionals to search and sample materials in the fastest most efficient way possible on 1 single platform.
Their Magento platform powers complex searches across hundreds of manufacturers in seconds. Samples ordered by midnight (EST) are delivered in a single box by 10:30 AM the next morning. Samples can be returned at no cost to be reused, rather than recycled, eliminating waste.
Material Bank saw a need for a hybrid-mobile app to compliment their Magento platform for their customers on-the-go. An app that would allow you to scan the QR code and order from your phone. They also had a strict deadline to get this hybrid-mobile app created, tested, and on the market within roughly 45 days before the design show they were attending.
This hybrid-mobile application was developed for Androd, iOS and Windows platforms using Ionic framework. The objective for this app was to enable the user to scan the product, store the product details, and send the material sample to the user via their shipping address.
Chetu's development environment technologies included Ionic 3, Apache Cordova 8.0, Javascript, Jquery, CSS, HTML5 and Visual Studio.
The user interface development required a login screen with credentials associated to the customer, a home screen, a scanner, product details, cart, and address inputs. No databases needed due to the app using Web API for database connectivity.
