Our client is a leading custom home builder and revolutionary architect. In an effort to market themselves to home buyers within their area, the client constructed an attraction of sorts, a showroom park and year-round destination where consumers can explore, experience, and enjoy the latest in home products.

The showroom park features a dozen beautifully appointed homes ranging in size, each representing a unique, architectural aesthetic. Contractors and manufacturers are welcome to display their offerings, a diversity that caters to a range of consumer preferences.

KIOSK APP REDUCES OVERHEAD WHILE NFC CHECKOUT DRIVES SALES

Considering the park is open all year, the client was hoping to reduce overhead costs by replacing a portion of his operations workforce with kiosks. The kiosks would be designed to eliminate ticket collectors and issuers by running an application capable of granting entry through a payment gateway capable of supporting variable pricing and special event pricing.

Development did not end with the kiosk, the client envisioned an additional solution to accompany visitors inside the park as well. Once inside the park, visitors would be able to browse products on display within the model homes (e.g. fireplaces, furniture, faucets etc.), receiving detailed purchasing information on an Android device (with RFID and NFC reading capabilities).

In scrolling through the products they are viewing, the client strengthens the brand interaction and increases the probability of purchase. The manufacturers and vendors showcasing their products in the park would be able to track product purchases through a real-time web-portal.

OPTIMIZING OPERATIONS WITH CUSTOM CODE

Having vast experience in developing e-commerce platforms, Android development and payment processing, Chetu created an application suite that handles all of the visitor's activity. This includes an application to charge the users at point of entry and a Magento-based e-commerce platform that handles catalog, product and vendor management. The Android device is integrated with RFID and NFC Readers allowing the user to scan RFID and NFC tags and provide product details including shopping cart features like catalog, pricing and payment processing.

Using its efficient yet low cost delivery model, Chetu delivered an application designed to manage all visitor activities at the park. The entire application suite is scalable to handle thousands of visitors coming to the park to enjoy the services.

We have used industry standard third-party e-commerce platforms (Magento) and customized it to suit the needs of our client, instrumenting the following modules:

A kiosk application that charges visitors at the point of entry. It has membership pricing, daily/regular pricing. It has integration with OCR Scanner to scan and authenticate driver's licenses as well.
Android Device: Developed on the Android OS, the device has integration with RFID and NFC Reader as well as an eCommerce Platform for Product & Payment processing
Consumer Portal: An eCommerce web-portal where Customers can review products and their shopping cart from within the Park or online.
Manufacturer / Vendor Portal: Enabling Manufacturers and vendors who have products on display to track user views, feedback as well as buying behavior.
