The client is a leading provider of gift, loyalty and stored value cards. The client provides promotional marketing solutions to merchants globally and helps merchants in acquiring, retaining and maintaining long-term relationships with consumers. Through promotions and special membership campaigns, storefronts leverage the client's offerings to grain brand loyalty from a growing consumer network.
To keep pace with the dynamic retail market, the client envisioned a more intelligent platform for distributing their existing proprietary gift, loyalty and stored value platform by integrating their system with social media networks and e-commerce platforms. Considering a large portion of their target markets subscribe to leading social media networks, incorporating their system into those networks would give them the momentum they need to evolve alongside the digital age.
After researching custom development partners, the client came across Chetu and decided to collaborate in an augmentation relationship. Although the client had a capable internal development team, they were experiencing limited bandwidth. To combat this issue and bring their new software to market in a timely matter, the client added resources to work as an extension of their existing team.
Often when augmenting there is an adaption period, where added resources learn the native code, but Chetu was able to begin implementing the code immediately due to their familiarity with the architecture.
The client's objective was to tie their customer loyalty program with Facebook so that consumers could share and like merchant products to earn loyalty points/rewards. The client then wanted to integrate the loyalty program into their Demandware cartridge to allow consumers to redeem the loyalty points.
In support of the integration, the client also included a mobile application in the project plan. The application served as a campaign manager. Apart from this the client needed support to enhance their proprietary transaction processing system and integrate with external providers for live currency conversion and sending mobile SMS.
Chetu teamed up with the client to develop a Facebook app, integrating it with their existing customer loyalty platform. Having vast experience in e-commerce platform integration, the Chetu team designed and developed an interface into client's Demandware cartridge for loyalty point redemption during checkout process.
The Chetu team also worked with the client to enhance their proprietary transaction processing system and successfully integrated with external providers for live currency conversion data feed and sending mobile text messages. Overall, the increased interconnectivity allowed this client to breach new markets, becoming more relevant to consumer trends.
