Let's Talk!
Our team of engineers leverage the Liferay platform to build external websites, portals, intranets, collaboration platforms, customer self-service sites and other enterprise solutions. We can also use Liferay as a headless platform without a display component. We do all this through the use of custom portlets, features, web services, mobile apps and themes.
We develop custom Liferay portlets, or web applications, using the latest Java Portlet Specification. These are developed using Liferay's APIs and as OSGI modules. Our portlets can run on a single page, or multiple portlets can be deployed to a page at the same time. Examples of customized portlets include calendars, message boards, bookmarks, and announcements.
Our Liferay feature coding allows us to override Liferay's service wrappers, customize JavaServer Pages (JSPs) using an API-based approach, create custom AUI modules, override MVC commands, language keys and LPKG files, create new model listeners, or design new modules to inject content using dynamic includes. This allows us to adapt Liferay for many enterprise uses.
Our team develops and configures specific JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) or Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) web services using Liferay's Service Builder. Any developed app can then invoke these services with the correct security layers, using JavaScript or the URL or cURL. This applies to both local services and remote services.
Chetu's team create iOS and Android apps that interface with Liferay instances. There are two methods for doing so: either by using Liferay Screens and built-in components called Screenlets, or via the Liferay Mobile SDK. Because Screenlets require a UI, there are often cases where calling the SDK is more appropriate. Via either approach, we can create a customized mobile app.
It's important to customize Liferay's look and feel to match the graphic design of a business. By coding in JavaScript, HTML and CSS, and by using the FreeMarker Java template engine, we create specific themes for a new graphic design, or to adapt Liferay to an existing style. Also, existing themes can be extended through the use of Themelets, for minor style changes.
