There had been recurring equipment failures in restaurant settings, causing not only disruptions to operations but dissatisfied customers.
Our experts stepped in to develop a solution that enables restaurants to monitor the health of services like the Internet, POS systems, and phones. This comprehensive solution cuts equipment failures by up to 90%. Here is how we did it.
We implemented Grafana, a multi-platform analytics web application to enable real-time monitoring and alerting of critical service failures. We also integrated Slack for real-time alerting, establishing a seamless communication channel, transmitting essential data such as service failure specifics, timestamps, and alert severity levels to the Slack messaging platform.

In addition to Slack, the system is integrated with an email notification system. Email alerts are sent to predefined addresses for individuals who require email-based notifications.

From the restaurant dashboard, users can navigate to the device dashboard for a particular device or service within the restaurant to examine specific issues.
The system is designed to trigger alerts at specific points, ensuring that critical incidents are promptly communicated to relevant parties. Alerts are triggered in the following scenarios:
Major service outages (Red Status) at the Global dashboard level
Minor service disruptions (Yellow Status) at the Global dashboard level
Individual device or service failures at the Device Dashboard level
Custom-defined threshold breaches for critical parameters, such as network or device temperature, can trigger alerts.
The system allows for user-specific alerts to notify the proper individuals promptly. These alerts are tailored to specific users or user groups based on their roles and responsibilities. Users receive alerts through Slack messages or email notifications, depending on their preferences and responsibilities.
