Chetu worked with a home automation and security company to develop a scalable client-managed website to compete in a crowded marketplace, win over more clients, and energize sales.

A leading home automation and security company’s website and content management system needed an update. The site was not performing well in terms of SEO (Search Engine Optimization), had a frustrating user interface, and did not generate sufficient new leads.
The site was challenging for users, as it had a cluttered look that was detrimental to sales and customer satisfaction. Important elements, including the shopping cart and the “how-to” section, were hard to find, and it needed a more comprehensive review option that included a description instead of simply a numerical rating.
An update would help position the company for sustained growth and relevance in a competitive online marketplace.
After a comprehensive review of the existing website, a design plan was formulated and offered to the client. As part of the modernization program, Chetu updated the Kentico CMS platform, which uses an SQL server to manage content efficiently. This update allowed the seamless addition of additional pages, such as a news/press page, and the integration of various multimedia elements, including videos and banners, to enhance the visual appeal for users.
User navigation was an essential element that needed immediate attention. The update included visual clues and an updated UI (user interface) so that users could easily find and access their shopping cart, product installation instructions, and assistance content. Enhanced search features were added so users could quickly find the solution they were looking for, along with related options.
SEO was another consideration in the site redesign and update. To enhance search engine visibility, “alt-image” tags were added to all product images, improving SEO rankings while ensuring compliance with ADA regulations.
Mobile integration was also crucial in this project, as more and more users use their mobile devices for shopping and information. As the site was updated, special attention was paid to ensure that it was 100% mobile-friendly.
Ultimately, the upgraded site offered a far superior user experience, increased page ranking, and generated more leads. On the backend, the client benefitted from substantial ease of use with the ability to manage their website via a web browser to easily edit text and insert or remove images in an editor similar to Microsoft Word. For added ease of use, they could choose from a wide range of built-in content modules to customize their website further without any coding or technical knowledge needed.
